- – Verify that you have the authority to manage the claimed listing.
- – Make you the owner of the claimed listing which can make your name and avatar visible to the public.
- – Contact you to inform you if your claim has been approved or rejected.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Additional information
How we protect your data
Passwords, account information and log in details are held in our database in a secure ecrypted format. Our database itself is subject to security measures from both internal website measures, by our secure cloud based web hosting company and by our contracted web security and monitoring company. 24 hour monitoring and protection provides security against malicious attacks, DDOS attacks and direct hacking attempts such as cross site scripting and SQL code injection. Our database and site are backed up daily.
What data breach procedures we have in place
In the unlikely event of a data breach we have support from our web hosting company to analyse and detect what, if any data may have been compromised. If any details are found to have been compromised all owners of that data will be notified by email asap. It should be noted that the data we hold on our database is only the requested information required to enable your listing and your actual list data. With the exception of your Log In details, we hold no data relating to anything other than your publically available business information.
What third parties we receive data from
We receive data from Google through their Analytics software regarding web site usage and tracking but all information is anonymous.
